Salento area is the south of the Apulia region. (in Italian 'region Puglia' ). Otranto is the most charming town in this area . The nearest city is Lecce. The quality residence - where the apartment is located is famous for the beautiful long white beaches, sandy dunes and fringed by dense pine woods and the typical Mediterranean bushes and flora. And it's at only 6 km from Otranto; the magic and most eastern town of Italy! What is more Salento towns, villages and city are celebrated to be the area of the Baroc and renaissance art and monuments. Also, Lecce is called 'the Florence of the south Italy'. Finally, Otranto area is also famous to have the most clean and crystal sea of Italy and to be the place for the water sports lover (like windsurfing). You will be enchanted for the friendliness of the locals !!!

WHO WE ARE: We are a family who live in central Italy, in the Umbria region. We love Umbria but we love also Apulia and in particular the Salento area (OUR SECOND HOME), to the south of Apulia - where the sea is the most beautiful and cleanist of Italy! Because of this we bought an apartment in one of the most elegant residence of Apulia. We decided to open our apartment to guests in the months of May, June, September and October. Six kilometres north of Otranto town, there is a wonderful area of long white beaches and sandy dunes fringed by dense pine woods and the typical Mediterranean bushes and flora. This is the centre of the QUALITY tourist village SERRA DEGLI ALIMINI 2 ...the place where there is the apartment! Your apartment is only 50 metres to the sea. Between the apartment and the sea there are only the dunes and the typical Mediterranean bushes and flora. Twenty metres from the apartment there is a lovely pine woods.

THE COMFORTABLE AND PRACTICAL APARTMENT IS COMPOSED BY : - Living room - Fully equipped kitchen with four fires, - Dish-washer, - Refrigerator - Double bedroom with a large bed - Four guests bedroom with loft beds - Bathrooms with shower - Privategarden(patio with table and chairs). In the Alimini 2 Residence there is always a caretaker. Note : some village's facilities are available only in the months of June and September ! About facilities of the village during the months: From the First of July the Italian factory use to close for the summer time holidays.Because this all the Italians go to the holidays during the months of July and August.The Apulia region has seven months of summer with a clean and beautiful sea and a blue sky . And of course....the warm sun !So, the BEST time to discover this part of Italy are the months of May,June,September and October.Because the Italians use to go on vacation on July and August some services are available only form the First of June to the 30 of September : Swimming pool , -Beach service (lifeguard,sunbeds etc.)-Liveliness,animation-Guard -Bar,-TV room. During the other months this services are NOT AVAILABLE.Because this the apartment is cheaper...but i really think that the months of May,September and October are the best months to discover the incredible land of Salento,with his beautiful and clean sea,the art,the tradition, the delicious cooking and wine.Yes, because during this time there aren't many tourist

Otranto town and the gastronomy : There is something very special about Otranto area but you really have to live there in order to get to know it well. And learn all about the traditions of the area. Few people are able to resist its charms and it attracts tourists from all over the world. The crystal clear sea, the climate, the culture and historical origins all contribute towards making Otranto area one of the most sought after resorts in Salento. In the Apulian gastronomy you can find both the tastes coming from the sea and from the land, which combine in delicious recipes. In fact there are many recipes, dishes and tastes to discover in these places. Please....don't miss the typical cakes such as 'il pasticciotto' and the 'pasta reale' Among the typical products you cannot miss the extra-vergin olive oil, which is among the best ones produced in Italy. How can you reach Apulia region and Otranto If you want to arrive in Puglia from the North, it is possible to take the motorway A14 that connects Milan to Bari, the regional capital.If you are flying, your reference are the Bari-Palese airport and the Brindisi-Papola airport. You can also reach Puglia by train, thanks to the railway network that connects it to the various Italian towns. Moreover, you can use the Roma-Caserta-Benevento-Bari line, from Rome or instead, from Milan, the Milano-Bologna-Ancona-Pescara-Bari line. If you want to travel by boat, there are three principal connection ports in Bari, Brindisi and Taranto.It also provides ferry links with Greece.By car: take the highway A14 to Bari then continue to Brindisi and Lecce on the statal road Strada Statale SS 16 Adriatica. Follow the sign for Maglie and then Otranto. By train: you can easily reach Lecce from any main Italian city. From Lecce you can reach Otranto by train (Ferrovie Sud-Est) or by public and turistic bus. By air: go to Brindisi airport, the nearest.
